Lyrics. Although by The Smiths, anyone with a basic knowledge of Ukrainian can see the lyrics are not actually a translation of Morrissey’s original words of The Queen is Dead. Even the title says The Queen is not dead! The words are an abstract.

Ukrayinamerica
Original idea, concept, melody to the words, words, and English translation by me. Observations about immediate post Soviet Ukraine. The subject matter of this song has been used in online reviews to describe the general theme of the whole CD Kultura. It has also been quoted in online reviews as the CD that launched The Ukrainians success in Poland.

Slava
Original tune and words by me. I was inspired to write this after hearing Sashko Pipa from V V say ”Day meni Kilo Masla” when we were on joint tour of Ukraine with them in 1993. It totally summarised a grim image of Soviet Ukraine for me where food is bought by “the kilo” when available in case it’s not on the shelves tomorrow, and having seen big strong women laying down tram lines in Kyiv, it inspired a satirical song about a Woman's builders co-operative.
Evropa.
Peter wanted to write a song about travelling all around Europe and asked me to write the lyrics to his tune, so I did.
